2) Baked Oats

Baked Oats went viral earlier this year with people posting their tasty creations all over TikTok and Instagram, but we still aren’t over the baked oats hype. Take a look at this incredible baked oats breakfast by @pimp_up_your_plate.

INGREDIENTS:

  • X2 choc porridge pots
  • 180ml milk
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 10g cocoa powder
Bake in the oven for 20 mins at 180.

Then top with:

  • Choc chips
  • Sliced banana

You can even serve it up with yog, peanut butter and strawberries. YUM.

3) Protein Bars

Another awesome idea is to use our porridge to make your own protein bars. This recipe was created by @ghofitness and we love it. It makes enough for 8 servings, so is ideal when breakfasts or post-workout snacks!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 30g dried cranberries
  • 1 tbsp of honey
  • 20ml almond milk
  • 2 golden syrup porridge pots
  • 2 tbsp of smooth nut butter
  • 70g jumbo rolled oats
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil

METHOD:

  • Line an 8 inch square baking pan with greaseproof paper and pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Put the coconut oil, honey and nut butter in a microwavable bowl and place them in the microwave to melt for 20 seconds. Stir to combine.
  • Next add the oats, milk and porridge pots and mix. Finally fold in the dried cranberries.
  • Spoon the mix into the baking pan, spread it out evenly and press it down to make sure it is compact. .
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown. Once out of the oven leave the dish to cool and transfer to the fridge overnight. This will ensure that the bars do not crumble when cut. Cut into 8 and store in an airtight container.

4) Loaded Choc Porridge

This loaded chocolate porridge, topped with choc peanut butter, granola and our double choc cookie is a filling breakfast is great for re-fuelling after a workout and satisfying your sweet tooth!

INGREDIENTS:

  •  1 choc porridge pot
  •  A sprinkling of chunky choc granola
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate peanut butter
  •  ½ a double choc oat cookie

METHOD:

All you need to do is make the porridge as per instructions, before pouring it into a bowl and topping with peanut butter, granola and crumbled cookie. Easy as that!

If you fancy saving on washing up, you can even skip putting it in a bowl, simply make in our porridge pot (that’s what is designed for after all!). This does mean less room for extra toppings though…

We’d argue that every day is Porridge Day, but whether you are at home or on the go, make sure to take some time to enjoy your porridge in recognition of World Porridge Day.
