Bringing B Corp to Breakfast
Have you heard the news? Your favourite Breakfast brand is now a B Corporation (we mean us, FUEL10K, not that we’re worried there might have been any confusion...).
What is a B Corporation we hear you ask?
Well, B Corporations (B Corp to you and me) are businesses that balance profit and purpose. Together we are forming a community of leaders that driving a global movement of people using business as a force for good.
There are about 4,000 BCorp companies worldwide and 400 in the UK = they form a community of leaders that are driving a global movement to use business as a force for good. FUEL10K puts it’s stakeholders at the centre of it’s business and has pledged very publicly (and legally) to contribute to creating a thriving planet and prosperous future for all involved and in all that it does. We are on a mission to help transform the role of business in society.
Now you’re interested, but maybe wondering why we decided to become a B Corp?
The system is broken; by placing shareholder profits above all else, businesses have harmed our societies and our planet. We’ve long been committed to doing better, from improving the nutritional value of our range to reducing our plastic across the range. From June 2021 our best-selling Granola will be 100% recyclable, with the aim being that our entire range will be recyclable by the end of 2022. We turned our attention to becoming a B Corp in 2020 after wanting to do more to create a thriving planet and prosperous future for everyone. Together with other B Corps we are on a mission to transform the role of business in society.
But what does this mean for me, you say?
Firstly run to your local store, or visit us online, and stock up. Secondly, enjoy our delicious range safe in the knowledge that you’re consuming something produced by a brand that cares. Thirdly, tell everyone you know. Post it on Facebook, call your mum, write a note and pass it to the person sitting next to you on the bus. Make sure you do the last one from a safe two meters away, obviously.
We want you to know that this doesn’t mean we think we’re perfect. It’s a recognition that we’re on a journey. We’re going to keep you updated too, both on what we’re doing well and what we need to work on. Join us on this journey, you can find us on social media @FUEL10K or just pop us a message at [email protected].
